Northern lights - have you seen them yet?

The Aurora Borealis, one of nature’s most spectacular exhibitions of beauty, is a natural phenomenon with the viewing season lasting from late August to as late as mid-April. NASA scientists have predicted the best possible conditions for seeing the Northern Lights in the current decade.

It's not just the Northern Lights that make Iceland the best winter holiday destination. During your visit, spend time snowmobiling on glaciers, visit the steaming geysers or relax in the geothermal Blue Lagoon. Book additional nights in Iceland for even more free time to explore Reykjavík or wherever else your curiosity leads you. Let our exciting day tours lead the way! Day 1Welcome to Iceland!

Check in at your hotel in Reykjavik and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Check-in times range between 2 - 3pm, however hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavik and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the world’s northernmost capital. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat. Check out our wide range of tours and activities, including whale watching and horse riding.

Day 2Go hunting for the northern lights

Spend the day at your leisure. Northern Lights Hunt tour is booked for late evening and takes you to the best viewing location, as decided by Mother Nature. The Northern Lights might appear just outside of Reykjavik or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour's drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure and your guide will use the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route. Coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 30 minutes prior. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.

Please Note: If your tour is cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions, or your tour operates as scheduled without any northern lights sightings, you have the option of joining the tour the following night for free (subject to availability). If your tour is cancelled due to weather conditions and you’re unable to reschedule, you may request a full refund for the included northern lights tour only.
