Board your Icelandair flight for the overnight to our hub at Keflavík International Airport, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled in the winter as you just may see the northern lights dancing beside you! In the summer you'll have to settle for just one light - guaranteed sightings for nearly 24 hours - the sun!
Welcome to Iceland! Check in at your hotel in Reykjavik and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Check-in times range between 2 - 3pm, however hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavik and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the town. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat.
Today you'll experience the natures phenomenon of Raufarholshellir lava tunnel as you explore it in an easy and enjoyable manner. A guide will lead you through the colourful landscape into the breathtaking natural cave. Equipment such as helmet and light are provided at the location, however it is highly recommended to wear warm overalls and sturdy shoes.
The adventure continues to the Old Harbour of downtown Reykjavik for a whale watching tour on the Faxafloi Bay. During this educational and interactive tour you may spot mainly four types of whales - Minke Whales, White-Beaked Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises and Humpback Whales. Please note the tour finishes at the Old Harbour and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Pick up from your hotel or designated pick up location at 08:30. Tour duration 7 hours. Lunch can be purchased in between the tours at Reykjavik Old Harbour; clients receive 15% discount at Reykjavik Rost Bistro. Sandwiches and snacks can also be purchased on board the whale watching ship.
Day four begins with a trip to the famous Golden Circle, followed by a visit to the Fontana geothermal baths - a wonderful combination of scenic natural wonders, history and relaxation. You'll visit three of Iceland's most famous places: Gullfoss waterfall, Þingvellir National Park and the Geysir hot spring area. Afterwards, you'll head down to the lakeside to enjoy natural steam baths of Laugarvatn Fontana, including three geothermally heated baths, a sauna and access to the pristine waters of Lake Laugarvatn.
Before heading back to Reykjavík, you'll have a chance to taste and enjoy some unique Icelandic rye bread that has been naturally slow baked underground in the natural hot springs.
Pick up from your hotel or designated pick up location at 08:30. Please remember to bring a swimsuit and a towel (can be rented on the spot).
Bid farewell to Iceland (for now!) before heading to Keflavik for your return flight home on Icelandair!
